A few days ago we looked at the various affiliate marketing networks available to affiliates. These networks provide products to sell and will manage the payment from merchants to affiliates. Really they work as the middle man between the merchant and the affiliate. So here is the 2nd part of the blog series…
CPA Networks – “CPA” stands for Cost Per Action. Commission from these networks is paid on actions undertaken, for example when a visitor submits an email address, fills out a form or downloads a toolbar. Quite often these CPA networks will concentrate on offers – for example if you’ve ever filled out a form for free ring tones, it’s quite likely that you’ve helped a CPA affiliate get paid. Examples of the sites for CPA Networks include:
The advantages of using a CPA network site from the affiliates point of view are:
- Quite easy to get leads
- the focus is on selling – the ‘offer’ ie ringtone offers, insurance quote offers, etc – so you won’t have to sell a product, just an action
- the CPA network is an expert on sales tools – such as banners and images – good to learn from them
- the offers usually appeal to the mass market.
Coupon Networks – If you’ve ever looked for a promotion code or a coupon online, you most likely looked at a coupon affiliate’s site. Just like CPA networks, the coupon network specialises in offers, this can include contests, sweepstakes, quizzes etc. Examples of coupon networks are:
Advantages of these from an affiliates point of view are very similar to that of the CPA networks.
So if you haven’t read Part 1, click through to it. Once you’ve got your own site up and running, you’ll need to select products to sell that you can make commission on. Make the most of the space in your online storefront to boost your income.
